Beta software, and what that means for the output

Praqtor Imagine is beta software and its output is not guaranteed. It reads the choices you make and customizes a finished template. It may apply a change only in part, or leave something you asked for undone. It cannot add features the template does not have, change what the app records, or restructure its screens.

This is why nothing is hidden from you before you decide: you are shown photographs of the result and a summary assembled from what actually changed rather than from what was intended. Read those before you download.

The service and everything it produces are provided as-is and as-available, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. They are for testing and evaluation. Review, test and satisfy yourself about any generated file before relying on it.

What the service does

You choose a finished template, pick what should be different, and we produce a customized copy of it: one self-contained HTML file. You see photographs of the result before you decide whether to take it. During the beta, Praqtor Cross is the one template that can be made your own.

Codes and limits

• A build code opens one build and expires 24 hours after we issue it.
• One code request per email address per hour, and a small number of builds per day from any one connection.
• The code is checked when you build and spent when you download.
• Download links work once. If you lose the file, write to us.

What you may do with your file

A free build is for personal use only. The file is yours to keep, open, use, change and print for yourself, on any of your own devices. Printing a page to use with family or friends — a crossword at the kitchen table — is personal use.

A free build does not include the right to:

• Resell it. Do not sell the file, or anything made from it, in any form.
• Redistribute it. Do not share, upload or host the file for other people to download or use. Send them to the site instead, where they can make their own.
• Use it commercially. Do not use the file or its content in a business, or publish it as a product — including as a book on any print-on-demand or self-publishing service.

Commercial rights are not part of a free build. If we offer them in future, they will be granted separately and in writing; until then, every free build and download is for personal use. The templates and what is in them — puzzles and clues included — and the Praqtor names stay ours, and personal use of your file does not transfer any of that.

What you are responsible for

The choices you make and what you do with the result. Do not ask us to produce something unlawful, deceptive, or that impersonates somebody else. We may refuse or stop a build, and may withdraw a code, if we think it is being used that way.

Free during the beta

Everything offered during the beta is free: browsing the templates, building your copy, and downloading the file. If something is genuinely wrong with a file you received, write to us.

What we promise, and what we do not

We check every build before you see it: it is loaded in a browser and inspected, and the summary you are shown is assembled from what actually changed rather than from what was intended. What we do not promise is that a generated app is fit for any particular purpose, or that it is free of faults. Look at the screenshots properly before you download.

This is a beta. It may be slow, it may be unavailable, and it may change or stop. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from the beta or from anything it produces, which is provided free and as-is.
